A charter ordinance exempting the City of Iola, Kansas, from the provisions of K.S.A. 25-2303, 25- 2309 and 25-2709 and amendments thereto.

Whereas, House Bill No. 2079 was enacted by the 1996 legislature, is a nonuniform enactment, and places significant mandates on cities of the first and second class in Kansas.

Section 1. - Exemption.

The City of Iola, Kansas, by virtue of the power vested in it by Article 12, Section 5 of the Constitution of the State of Kansas, hereby elects to and does exempt itself and make inapplicable to it K.S.A. 25- 2303, 25-2309 and 25-2709 and amendments thereto, which apply to this city but do not apply uniformly to all cities.
